Staffan Löfving is an Associate Professor of Social Anthropology and Senior Lecturer in Intercultural Studies at Karlstad University, Sweden. He holds a visiting position as Visiting Associate Professor at the SARChI Chair in South African Art & Visual Culture, University of Johannesburg. His research focuses on visual anthropology, displacement studies, and economic anthropology, with fieldwork in Colombia, Guatemala, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Sweden. Löfving’s work bridges academic research with curatorial projects, collaborating with museums such as Ethnografiska Museet and the History Museum of Bosnia and Herzegovina. He has exhibited photographs documenting conflicts in Central America and the Balkans, emphasizing the socio-political dimensions of visual culture.
