Stacy Trasancos is an Adjunct Professor of Catholic Studies at Seton Hall University and Executive Director of the St. Philip Institute of Catechesis and Evangelization in the Diocese of Tyler, TX. She serves as Chief Research Officer of Children of God for Life and Teaching Fellow for Bishop Robert Barron's Word on Fire Institute.
- Education: Ph.D. in Chemistry (Pennsylvania State University, 1999), M.A. in Dogmatic Theology (summa cum laude, Holy Apostles College and Seminary, 2014), B.S. in Broadfield Science-Biology (Texas A&M University Commerce, 1991)
Her research bridges theology and science, focusing on reconciling evolutionary biology with Catholic teachings about Adam and Eve, bioethics in medical research, and the Christian foundations of modern science. She emphasizes science’s inherent limits in addressing existential mysteries and advocates for ethical scientific practices.
Key scientific awards include the Word on Fire Institute Fellowship (2018), Seton Hall University Digital Humanities Fellowship (2018), and a John Templeton Foundation Grant (2016) for developing the Reading Science in the Light of Faith course. She authored three books on faith-science integration and delivered talks at institutions like the University of Toronto and Notre Dame Seminary.
