Stacy Shaw

Stacy Shaw is an Assistant Professor in Social Science & Policy Studies at Worcester Polytechnic Institute, with joint appointment in Psychological Science. Her research examines mathematical cognition, anxiety in STEM learning, and educational technology integration.

Research Focus: Investigates how anxiety and cognitive factors influence mathematical problem-solving, and how classroom interventions can improve STEM learning outcomes. Recent work explores the role of rest in academic achievement.

Publications focus on statistical pedagogy, mathematics anxiety interventions, and technology-enhanced learning. Developed interactive materials for teaching statistics with R programming.

Professional Activities: Ambassador for the Center for Open Science, Catalyst for the Berkeley Initiative for Transparency in the Social Sciences, and member of the Coursekata project team.
