Stacy L. Young

Stacy L. Young, Ph.D., is a Professor in the Department of Communication Studies at California State University, Long Beach (CSULB), specializing in interpersonal and relational communication. Her research examines the role of emotion in interpersonal interactions, including both the positive and negative aspects of relationships.

Teaching Interests: Dr. Young teaches courses focused on relational communication theory and skills, including interpersonal communication, persuasive speaking, family communication, and leadership communication. She also contributes to the University Honors Program with seminars on interpersonal communication and the "dark side" of communication.

Service: Dr. Young serves as Director of the COMM Tutoring Center (AS-351), offering free course-specific tutoring to undergraduate students. She is additionally a Certified Employment Interview Coach, supporting job applicants and employers in talent identification.
