Stacy L. Henning

Stacy L. Henning serves as Associate Professor and Director of the Florida Counseling Program within the Department of Professional Counseling at Webster University's College of Science and Health. A Licensed Professional Counselor and Approved Clinical Supervisor (NBCC), she actively contributes to the counseling profession through leadership roles including former Senior Chair of the ACA Ethics Committee and current Site Team Chair for CACREP. She maintains a clinical practice in St. Louis, Missouri.

Her educational foundation includes a PhD in Counselor Education from CACREP-accredited programs. She holds dual credentials as a Licensed Professional Counselor and NBCC-approved clinical supervisor.

Dr. Henning's research program centers on four primary areas: ethics in counselor education, women's experiences during life transitions, teaching efficacy within counselor training, and the application of neurobiological principles to enhance counseling outcomes. Her clinical specialties encompass couples counseling, neuropsychotherapy, integrating religion/spirituality into therapy, and ethical practice across clinical and educational settings. Current investigations examine how neurobiological frameworks improve therapeutic efficacy in transition periods.

As an active committee member in the American Counseling Association's Public Policy and Legislative Committee, she shapes national counseling standards. Her directorship of the Florida Counseling Program involves curriculum oversight and clinical supervision for emerging professionals, while university committee work focuses on accreditation compliance through CACREP site evaluations.
