Dr. Stacie Gray is Senior Lecturer in Sport Business and Leadership at University of Northampton's Faculty of Arts, Science and Technology, where she serves as Programme Leader for BSc Sport Management and Leadership. With a PhD from Loughborough University analyzing compliance systems in sport, her research addresses two core areas: inclusive pedagogy in sport education and policy implementation/compliance in sports organizations. Gray's work advances SDGs 4 (Quality Education) and 5 (Gender Equality) through projects on curriculum diversity and gender representation in esports leadership.
Her pedagogical research examines how educators implement reading list diversity and make representation decisions in sport curricula, while sport industry studies investigate corruption behaviors, compliance barriers, and welfare systems. Current projects include:
- Advancing Gender Equality in Esports (British Academy funding)
- Barriers to women's leadership in East Asian esports
- Safeguarding culture development in gymnastics
Publication trends reveal consistent focus on compliance systems across contexts (anti-doping, child rights) and innovative methodologies including congruence analysis and comparative case studies. Gray serves as External Examiner for University of Portsmouth and engages industry partners including Northampton Town FC.
