معرفی
Stacey Harris, Ph.D., is a Professor in the Department of Mathematics and Statistics at Saint Louis University, where she has been since 1990. Prior to this, she held positions at the University of Missouri (1979–1980), Brown University (1980–1983), Oregon State University (1983–1989), and Coastal Carolina College (1989–1990). Her research focuses on differential geometry and its applications to general relativity, particularly exploring causal boundary constructions and spacetime structures. She has taken significant leaves for research, including at the Australian National University (1996), Perimeter Institute for Theoretical Physics (2011), and the University of Missouri (2004). Since 2012, she has served as President of the SLU Chapter of the AAUP.
Dr. Harris's education includes a BS (1973), MS (1974), and PhD (1979) in Mathematics from the University of Chicago. Her work bridges pure geometry with applications in theoretical physics, addressing global causality properties and spacetime topology. She has contributed extensively to understanding the causal boundary’s role in classifying spacetime models and their large-scale behavior.
Her research interests also include applying differential geometry to medical imaging through morph analysis. Over 40 years of academic contributions, she has published widely on spacetime boundaries, causal structures, and geometric properties of relativistic models. Awards and grants are not explicitly listed in the provided materials.
