Stacey Alex

Dr. Stacey Alex is an Assistant Professor of Spanish in the Humanities Department at Morningside University. Her specialization focuses on Latina/o/x Studies, with teaching areas spanning Spanish language and culture, bilingual education, and US Latinx communities. She created the 'Latinx Stories of Siouxland' oral history project and co-authored an open-access textbook for Heritage Spanish learners.

Her research examines cultural resistance and identity formation among undocumented immigrant communities through narrative analysis. Additional interests include Latin American popular culture and identity politics. Dr. Alex serves on the university's Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion committee and holds a PhD in Latin American Literary and Cultural Studies from The Ohio State University.
