Srinivas Kolla is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Materials Science and Engineering at Oklahoma State University-Tulsa. He holds a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Tulsa (2018), an MBA in International Business from Pondicherry University (2022), and prior degrees from Nagarjuna University, India. His research focuses on multiphase flow modeling, compact separation technologies, and fluid dynamics applications in energy and environmental sectors. He has over 20 years of industry experience in oil & gas, automotive, and medical sectors, complementing his academic roles.
- Education: Ph.D. (2018, Mechanical Engineering, University of Tulsa), MBA (2022, International Business), M.S. (2007, Mechanical Engineering, University of Tulsa), B.Tech. (2002, Mechanical Engineering, India)
- Professional Roles: Chair of ASME Mid-Continent Section, Technical Lead Organizer for ASME Fluid Engineering Division, and recipient of the 2024 ASME Petroleum Division Outstanding Faculty Advisor Award.
Dr. Kolla’s research integrates computational fluid dynamics (CFD), experimental techniques, and mechanistic modeling to address challenges in multiphase flow systems, including gas-liquid cyclone separators, emulsion stability, and erosion mitigation. His work emphasizes clean water technologies, produced water management, and filtration innovations. He has authored/co-authored numerous publications and holds multiple patents.
He teaches courses in design, controls, fluid mechanics, and mechanical systems, advising students on capstone projects and experimental fluid dynamics. His grants include OCAST and NSF EPSCoR funding for projects on multiphase flow systems and environmental applications.
