معرفی
Professor Srikala Raghavan is a Principal Investigator at the University of Glasgow and Cancer Research UK Scotland Institute, leading research on Epithelial Homeostasis and Immune Regulation at Barrier Surfaces. Her work bridges cell biology, immunology, and cancer research to explore mechanical and metabolic interactions at tissue barriers.
Education:
- PhD, Genetics, University of Cambridge (1998)
- MSc Molecular Biology, Bombay University (1994)
- BSc Chemistry/Botany/Zoology, Bangalore University (1991)
Her research focuses on two programs: (1) Epithelial-Immune Metabolic Crosstalk in inflammatory diseases and cancer, and (2) Stem Cell Mechanosensing, examining how nuclear mechanotransduction maintains stem cell quiescence. Publications span Science, EMBO Journal, and PNAS, with recent work on biomanufacturing skin templates and metabolic rewiring in inflammation.
Scientific Awards:
- American Cancer Society Research Scholar Grant
- Herbert Irving Research Scholar
- JDR Cover of the Year
- NYSTEM Idea Award
- Dermatology Foundation Career Development Award
Labs & Collaborations include the Beatson Institute, A*STAR Skin Research Labs, and inStem Bangalore. She mentors PhD student Ryan Lim and collaborates with immunologists, molecular biologists, and computational scientists.
