Max Planck Institute for Gravitational Physicsمعرفی
Dr. Srashti Goyal is a Junior Scientist (Postdoctoral Researcher) at the Max Planck Institute for Gravitational Physics (Albert Einstein Institute) in Potsdam, Germany, within the Astrophysical and Cosmological Relativity department. She collaborates with Miguel Zumalacarregui's group and is an active member of both the LIGO-Virgo-Kagra Collaboration and LIGO India Scientific Collaboration since 2020.
Her academic background includes:
- 2013-2018: BS-MS Dual Degree from Indian Institute of Science Education and Research, Kolkata (IISER-K)
- 2018-2023: PhD in Strong Gravitational-Wave Lensing and General Relativity Tests at International Center for Theoretical Sciences, Tata Institute for Fundamental Research, Bangalore (ICTS-TIFR)
Dr. Goyal's research centers on gravitational-wave lensing phenomena, where she pioneered the LensID pipeline for rapid strong lensing identification and contributed to LVK's third observing run analyses. Her current work investigates wave-optics lensing effects for future missions like LISA, aiming to constrain dark matter distributions and advance precision cosmology. She actively integrates machine learning techniques to enhance gravitational-wave data analysis, bridging astrophysics, relativity, and computational methods. Her expertise spans gravitational-wave astronomy, cosmological tests of fundamental physics, and algorithmic innovation for next-generation detectors.
As a core member of global gravitational-wave consortia, she contributes to collaborative efforts in detector science and data interpretation, with future work poised to impact dark matter studies and relativistic astrophysics through emerging space-based observatories.
