معرفی
Sparkle L. Malone serves as Assistant Professor in Yale University's School of the Environment and Center for Natural Carbon Capture, researching carbon dynamics and ecosystem function to develop climate solutions benefiting wildlife and communities. She is actively accepting doctoral students and will be on leave during Spring 2026.
Her academic foundation includes:
- PhD, University of Alabama
- MS, University of Florida
- BS, University of Florida
Dr. Malone's expertise spans Climate Science and Policy, Climate Change Adaptation, Land Cover Change, and Ecosystem Dynamics, with specialized focus on Fire Effects, Post-Fire Recovery, and Natural Carbon Capture (CO2/CH4). Her work integrates Tropical Ecosystems, Carbon Sequestration, and Watershed Management to build data-driven strategies for ecosystem resilience against climate extremes, particularly in coastal regions supporting global populations.
She currently advises doctoral students and leads the Malone Disturbance Ecology Lab, which employs remote sensing, eddy covariance towers, and spatial-temporal modeling to study climate-hydrology-land management interactions. The lab develops equitable land management systems minimizing climate destruction while enhancing ecosystem sustainability.
