Souphaphone Soudachanh

Dipl.-Ing. Souphaphone Soudachanh is a researcher at the Institute of Waste Management and Circularity, part of the Department of Landscape, Water and Infrastructure at the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences, Vienna (BOKU). His work focuses on waste management policies, recycling strategies, and sustainable resource utilization, particularly in international contexts.

• Design and test of policies for reducing waste from electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE) in Central Europe (2023–2026)
• Waste management strategy development for Erbil (2023)
• E-waste recycling analysis in Laos (2022–2023)
• Regional e-waste plan development in the Caribbean (2021–2023)

His research emphasizes policy frameworks for waste reduction, repair, and reuse, with funding from the European Commission, international organizations, and private companies. He contributes to interdisciplinary projects addressing global sustainability challenges.

Current collaborations include work with the Centre for Global Change and Sustainability and international partners in Southeast Asia and the Caribbean. His projects integrate technical and policy-oriented approaches to advance circular economy principles.
