Sotiris Manitsaris

Professor Sotiris Manitsaris serves as Deputy Director of the Centre for Robotics at MINES ParisTech, Université PSL, where he leads research in Human-Centred Artificial Intelligence and movement-based human-machine collaboration. His work bridges industrial applications and creative domains, focusing on how machines can understand and anticipate human behavior in professional contexts.

His research interests span multiple domains:

• Human-robot collaboration in industrial settings where robots anticipate human movements
• Gesture recognition systems that account for individual and cultural variations
• Movement sonification for musical and educational applications
• Ethical development of AI systems that interact with humans

Professor Manitsaris leads the Post-Master's Degree AIMove program focused on AI applications in movement analysis across industries and creative fields.
