Sorcha Thomson is an interdisciplinary historian specializing in twentieth-century anticolonial and socialist movements. She currently holds two prominent roles: a SAVA Research Fellow at the Institute of Advanced Studies (IAS) at University College London (UCL) and a Teaching Fellow in Politics and International Studies at SOAS University of London.

Research Focus: Her work explores the intersection of tricontinental movements and their global solidarity networks. Key areas include:
- Ecological dimensions of Cuban agrarian reform (1959–1970s)
- Transnational analysis of Palestinian liberation networks (1948–1982)
- Public history and creative historical practices
- Global political agendas shaped by socialist states
Academic Contributions: Sorcha co-edited two influential volumes in 2023: She Who Struggles: Revolutionary Women who Shaped the World and Palestine in the World: International Solidarity with the Palestinian Liberation Movement. She previously served as an editor for History Workshop magazine.
