Sophie ROY

Sophie ROY is a Research Fellow at the Clermont-Ferrand Institute of Chemistry (ICCF), part of the Université Clermont Auvergne (UCA). She leads the Peptoid Theme within the Organic and Medicinal Chemistry (COM) team and co-facilitates the Chemistry for the Living interdisciplinary axis. Her research focuses on peptoid-based foldamers and peptidomimetics for applications in antibacterial therapies, cancer, and pain management.

Education: Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry (1999, University of Reims Champagne-Ardenne) under Prof. Olivier Piva, followed by postdoctoral stints at RWTH Aachen (Germany) and Université René Descartes (Paris V). She obtained her HDR (Habilitation) in 2012 at UCA.

Key roles include managing the ICCF Chemical Library and supervising research on antibacterial peptoid platforms, including glycocluster design and click chemistry approaches. Notable awards include the Dina Surdin Prize (2000).
