Sophie Portrat is a Lecturer at Grenoble Alpes University, affiliated with the Social Careers Department at IUT2. Since 2010, she has contributed to the Consciousness, Memory, and MetaCognition (CoMMet) team and CNRS UMR 5105. Her work bridges cognitive psychology with computational modeling, focusing on working memory and its intersection with developmental psychology.
Education includes a Doctorate in Psychology (2008) from the University of Burgundy, followed by a Post-Doctoral Fellowship at the University of Geneva (2008–2010) under the Fyssen Foundation.
Her research themes center on:
- Working memory maintenance mechanisms
- Temporal and semantic compression
- Attentional refreshing and decay models
- Impact of aging and physical activity on cognition
Publication trends reveal a focus on
- Working memory in aging populations
- Biathlon and sleep studies in children
- Computational models integrating decay and interference
- Chunking and semantic compression
Scientific awards include a Post-Doctoral Fellowship from the Fyssen Foundation (2008–2010).
Advising has involved mentoring students like Dessus P., Lau G., and Phénix T. across studies in
- Working memory modeling
- Biathlon-cognition links
- Age-related cognitive changes
