Sophie Hundertmark

Sophie Hundertmark is a Senior Research Fellow at the Institute of Financial Services Zug (IFZ) within the Lucerne School of Business at Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts (HSLU). Her work focuses on Conversational AI, particularly in financial services and insurance sectors. She holds a Master's in Business Administration, specializing in Online Business and Marketing from HSLU (2017), and is pursuing a PhD in Conversational AI at the University of Fribourg under Prof. Dr. Edy Portmann.

Her research explores AI-driven customer dialogues in banking and insurance, emphasizing areas like Conversational Banking/Insurance and Generative AI applications. She advises major financial institutions such as Raiffeisen Group, Helvetia, and Baloise, and has developed a podcast series, 'Next AI Talk,' and authored books on chatbots and generative AI. She also founded the Zurich AI community and organizes annual AI conferences.

Key projects include studies on conversational financial services, AI in non-profit reporting, and adaptive communication technologies for foundation councils. Her publications span peer-reviewed journals, industry reports, and book chapters on topics like fuzzy logic in conversational agents and ethical considerations in AI.

She has received the 2018 Best Paper Award at the IWW Internet Conference for her work on chatbots in public transport. Beyond academia, she contributes to blogs for HSLU and maintains her own blog on chatbots, blending research with practical insights for businesses adopting AI.
