Sophie Costil is a Professor at the University of Technology of Belfort-Montbéliard (UTBM) in the department of Metallurgical Processes, Sustainability, and Materials. She serves as the head of the ICB-PMDM research team, responsible for laser activities and hybrid treatments in thermal projection.
- Research Themes: Thermal projection, additive manufacturing, laser texturing/structuring, interface optimization, material characterization, and sustainability.
- Career: 1992 DEA in Macromolecular and Composite Materials (UCBL); 1995 PhD in Materials Science (Ecole Centrale de Lyon); 2005 HDR in Engineering Sciences (UTBM/Université de Franche-Comté); 2018 Appointment as University Professor at UTBM.
