Sophie Brameyer

Prof. Sophie Brameyer is an Acting Professor in the Department of Microbiology at Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich (LMU), located at the Biocenter. She holds additional roles as Radiation Protection Officer and Biological Safety Officer within the Microbiology division. Her research focuses on bacterial stress responses, quorum sensing mechanisms, and antibiotic tolerance. Key areas include acid stress adaptation pathways, bacterial signaling molecules, and the interplay between environmental stress and cellular survival strategies.

Her work integrates molecular genetics, proteomics, and systems biology approaches to study phenomena like phenotypic heterogeneity in microbial populations and the design of synthetic signaling systems.
