Sophia Rodriguez is an Associate Professor at New York University’s Steinhardt School of Culture, Education, and Human Development, specializing in Educational Policy Studies and Sociology. Her research focuses on racial equity, urban education, and immigrant youth advocacy, with a particular emphasis on undocumented students and community-school partnerships. She leads the ImmigrantEdNext Research Lab, mentoring doctoral students in projects addressing belonging for immigrant youth.
Education: Rodriguez holds a PhD from Loyola University Chicago, an M.S. from Fordham University, and a BA from Marquette University. She has held faculty positions at the University of Maryland, College Park, and was awarded over $1.5M in grants there.
