Soo-Young Leam is a PhD student at The Courtauld Institute of Art researching Lee Seung-Taek's avant-garde art contributions in post-war Korea. She holds teaching roles as a Lecturer for Ewha Woman’s University and Yonsei University Art in London Programmes during summers, and previously volunteered as a lecturer at the Fitzwilliam Museum Outreach Programme.

Awards include the Stavros N Niarchos Foundation (2014–2015) and Cambridge Overseas Trust Scholarship (2009–2012). She has presented at conferences such as Sotheby’s Institute of Art (2015) on Korean art and USC on memory politics in East Asia.
