Soo Jeong Lee is an Assistant Professor of Economics at Southern Illinois University Carbondale. She earned her Ph.D. in Economics from Michigan State University (2025) and holds an M.A. and B.S. in Economics from Sungkyunkwan University, South Korea.

Her research focuses on econometrics and the economics of education, with an emphasis on developing causal inference methods to analyze education policy. She previously worked at the Korea Technology Finance Corporation, supporting tech startups through credit guarantees and consulting services.
