Dr. Songting Dong is a Senior Lecturer at the School of Marketing within the Business School at the University of New South Wales (UNSW). He earned both his Bachelor's and Doctoral degrees with distinction from Tsinghua University, with part of his PhD training conducted at Smeal College of Business, Pennsylvania State University.
Dr. Dong's major research interest lies in studying consumers' preferences, emotions and their behaviors in the digital age, with a focus on understanding the consumer decision-making journey. His research approach involves improving preference elicitation methods and utilizing advanced quantitative modeling approaches to help companies understand and manage their existing and potential customers.
His recent publications reveal a strong focus on the intersection of artificial intelligence and marketing, particularly examining how large language models and generative AI can be leveraged in consumer research and marketing education. His work spans traditional consumer behavior topics like satisfaction-loyalty relationships and repurchase decisions to cutting-edge research on human-AI collaboration in decision-making processes.

His grant history shows consistent research funding from various sources including the National Natural Science Foundation of China and industry partners.
His research activities span multiple domains including consumer behavior in digital environments, AI applications in marketing, and business strategies during global crises, demonstrating a versatile research portfolio that addresses both theoretical and practical marketing challenges.
