Senior Professor Song-Ping Zhu is a faculty member at the School of Mathematics and Applied Statistics, University of Wollongong (2022–present). He earned a B.E. in Engineering Mechanics (1982) from Huazhong University of Science & Technology, followed by M.S. in Applied Mechanics (1985), M.S. in Applied Mathematics (1988), and Ph.D. in Fluid Mechanics (1987) from the University of Michigan. His career includes roles as Lecturer (1991), Senior Lecturer (1995), Associate Professor (1997), and Professor (2007) before becoming Senior Professor in 2015.
