Solomon Oyelere is an Associate Professor of Computer Science at the University of Exeter and currently serves as Deputy Director of Education and Student Experience (DDESE) in the Computer Science department. He holds a PhD from the University of Eastern Finland (2014–2018), an MSc from Ilmenau University of Technology (2010–2013), and a B.Tech from Modibbo Adama University of Technology (2002–2008). His research focuses on pervasive/mobile computing, human-centered AI, and education systems, with notable contributions to smart ecosystem development for learning and inclusion through EU-funded projects.
Dr. Oyelere’s expertise spans distributed computing, data science, and software engineering. He actively engages in professional education development, peer review, and external examining. His work aligns with UN Sustainable Development Goals 3 (Good Health), 4 (Quality Education), 9 (Industry/Innovation), and 13 (Climate Action). He leads the Exeter Immersive Environmental Intelligence initiative and collaborates on projects bridging technology, education, and societal impact.
