Solfrid Ingriddatter Nordrum is a Research Fellow and doctoral student at the University of Oslo’s Department of Social Anthropology, affiliated with the PANDEMEAT project. Her work focuses on the political ecology of industrial meat production, particularly managing African swine fever (ASF) in Norway and Sweden through the lens of hunter organizations and wild boar dynamics. She holds master’s and bachelor’s degrees in Social Anthropology from UiO, with international experience in Argentina and at the Norwegian Embassy in Santiago. Her master’s thesis examined environmental management within the Norwegian Agriculture Agency, emphasizing care practices and emotional labor in bureaucratic work.
Her research interests bridge anthropology of nature, food systems, science studies, and feminist methodologies. Nordrum collaborates with the Rural Futures and Sustainable Food Systems groups, contributing to interdisciplinary studies on more-than-human sociality and policy interventions. Recent publications include critical analyses of avian influenza risk communication in Scandinavian media.
