Sola Adeyemi is Associate Lecturer in Theatre and Performance at Goldsmiths, University of London, holding a PhD in Theatre Arts from the University of Leeds with postgraduate qualifications from University of Greenwich. He teaches African Theatre History, Postcolonial Theatre, and Culture and Performance while convening the MA World Theatres program.
Research specializes in Yorùbá performance traditions, intercultural adaptations of Shakespeare, and political dimensions of African theatre. Published works analyze Femi Osofisan's dramas, Yorùbá masquerade rituals, and pan-African playwriting. Recent scholarship examines representation in performance and intercultural aesthetics in African drama.
As Editor of Opon Ifa Review and General Secretary of African Theatre Association UK, Adeyemi promotes African performance scholarship. He has presented internationally on theatre's role in social critique and cultural preservation.
