معرفی
Sol Saporta is a Professor in the Department of Linguistics at the University of California, Berkeley, affiliated with the College of Letters & Science. Their research focuses on syntactic and semantic theory, particularly examining conditionality, agreement systems, and clitic phenomena in Romance languages. Saporta holds a Ph.D. in Linguistics from MIT (2010), an MA from Harvard University (2006), and a BA from Stanford University (2004).
Research interests include formal syntax, the syntax-semantics interface, and cross-linguistic variation in clitic constructions. Saporta's work has explored conditional structures, dislocation phenomena, and information-structural effects on syntactic derivation. Their NSF CAREER Award (2018) supported studies on conditionality in syntax, while the UC Berkeley Distinguished Teaching Award (2021) recognizes excellence in teaching syntax and semantics courses.

Advising and grants include supervision of multiple graduate projects on syntactic theory and ongoing research funded by the NSF. Saporta collaborates with computational linguists analyzing clitic data and maintains a research group focusing on syntax-semantics interfaces.
