Soizic Garnier

Soizic Garnier is a Research Officer at the School of Ocean Sciences. She holds a PhD in Multi-decadal view of Puget Sound circulation from the University of Strathclyde (2016–present). Her research focuses on physical oceanography, estuaries, coastal systems, and the application of hydrodynamic modeling to address environmental challenges.

Research Interests: Garnier explores circulation, transport, and mixing processes in marine ecosystems, with emphasis on coastal dynamics, salmon farm waste remediation, larval dispersal for fisheries management, and climate change impacts on marine heatwaves. She combines numerical modeling, laboratory experiments, and in-situ studies to address these challenges.

• Secured Seafood Innovation Fund grants for research on sea cucumbers remediating salmon farm waste
• Collaborated on WWII shipwreck identification using hindcast transport modeling
