Sofia Vallila Rohter is an Associate Professor in the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders at the MGH Institute of Health Professions. She co-directs the Cognitive Neuroscience Group (CNG), focusing on aphasia rehabilitation and learning mechanisms.

Dr. Vallila-Rohter's research examines nonlinguistic cognitive systems in aphasia recovery, using behavioral studies, eye tracking, and EEG. Her work bridges rehabilitation science and clinical implementation, aiming to personalize treatment for stroke patients.
Her publications highlight trends in feedback processing, category learning, and implementation science. She has received multiple teaching awards, including the Nancy T. Watts Award (2020) and MGH IHP CSD Faculty Awards in 2020, 2017, and 2014.
