Sofia Lopes Portela is an Assistant Professor at ISCTE-IUL's Department of Quantitative Methods for Management and Economics. She holds a PhD in Quantitative Methods (Econometric Methods specialization), a Master's in Business Administration, and a Bachelor's in Business Organization and Management (Finance specialization), all from ISCTE-IUL. Her teaching spans undergraduate, master's, and doctoral programs in areas like Quantitative Methods, Research Methodologies, and Corporate Finance.
She has international teaching experience at Kozminski University (Poland), Tallinn University of Technology (Estonia), Budapest Business School (Hungary), and the Polytechnic University of Maputo (Mozambique). Previously served as Deputy Director of her department and coordinated the 'Modeling in Business and Economics' Research Group at UNIDE-IUL. Engages in consulting for companies in investment projects and market research.
