Sofia Graca

Sofia Graca is a Senior Lecturer at Canterbury Christ Church University specializing in Applied Criminology, Forensic Investigation and Sociology. She joined the institution in 2005 and previously served as School Director for Postgraduate Taught Provision, overseeing multiple Masters programmes in criminology and legal studies.

Her research centers on domestic abuse among migrant women in the UK, examining justice system interactions and help-seeking behaviour through socio-legal frameworks. She actively develops international collaborations with organizations including CEPOL, EUROPOL, and the Netherlands Police Academy, focusing on multi-agency approaches to domestic abuse prevention and educational material development.

As co-chair of CCCU's Domestic Abuse Hub, she drives partnerships with local, national, and international service providers. Her external work emphasizes translating research into practical policing strategies and cross-border professional training programs, with particular focus on intercultural dimensions of domestic violence interventions.
