Smriti Bhatt

Dr. Smriti Bhatt is an Assistant Professor of Cybersecurity in the Department of Computer and Information Technology at Purdue University, affiliated with the Purdue Polytechnic Institute. She holds a Ph.D. and M.S. in Computer Science from the University of Texas at San Antonio, and a B.E. in Computer Engineering from Kathmandu University. Her research focuses on IoT and CPS security, leveraging cloud/edge computing and AI/ML for smart healthcare, smart homes, and wearable IoT. Key interests include access control models, secure data communication, and anomaly detection in Cloud-Enabled IoT.

She has received the Trusted CI Fellow 2020 award and leads grants such as the Holistic Safety and Security Seed Grant (2023) and IoT National Training Programs (2022–2023). Her work spans 15+ peer-reviewed publications, with recent contributions in medical AI, cybersecurity architectures, and IoT security frameworks. Dr. Bhatt actively reviews for top journals/conferences and mentors students in high-impact research areas.

Research grants include Holistic Safety and Security (HSS) Seed Grant (PI) and IoT Training Programs. Her lab explores cutting-edge solutions for secure smart ecosystems, combining policy-driven access control with AI-driven anomaly detection. Collaborations include NSF CREST C-SPECC and industry platforms like AWS IoT.
