Slobodan Devic is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Oncology at McGill University and an Affiliate Member of the Medical Physics Unit, based at the SMBD-Jewish General Hospital in Montreal, Quebec.
His educational background includes:
- Medical College in Biochemistry & Molecular Biology from the University of Belgrade (1984)
- BSc in Physics from the University of Belgrade (1989)
- MSc in Physics from the University of Belgrade (1991)
- PhD in Physics from the University of Belgrade (1997)
- Residency in Medical Physics from McGill University (2002)
Dr. Devic's research focuses on advancing radiotherapy techniques through biological target volume definition using PET/CT and MRI simulation, development of novel treatments for gastrointestinal cancers, and intra-operative brachytherapy for breast cancer. His work critically relies on radiochromic film dosimetry for precise radiation dose measurement in complex treatment scenarios.
His notable recognition includes:
- Fellow of the Canadian College of Physicists in Medicine (FCCPM) in 2007
Based at the Jewish General Hospital, Dr. Devic integrates clinical practice with medical physics research to enhance radiotherapy accuracy and efficacy, particularly for lung, rectal, and breast carcinomas through multimodal imaging approaches.
