Dr. Skye Boughen is an Associate Professor in Population Health at the School of Rural Medicine, Charles Sturt University. She holds qualifications including BSc(Med), MBBS, MPH, and FRACGP. Her career spans clinical practice, education, and research, with a focus on rural health, women’s and children’s health, and medical education.
Dr. Boughen completed her medical training at UNSW and practiced as a GP at the Orange Aboriginal Medical Service for 12 years. She has supervised general practice registrars and medical students, and serves as a Senior Medical Educator for the RACGP in NSW and ACT. Her research includes contributions to the ARCHER adolescent rural cohort study while affiliated with the University of Sydney’s School of Rural Health.
Professional memberships include the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners and General Practice Medical Educators Association. Awards include FRACGP and Cert Med Ed.
Her work integrates clinical practice, education, and public health, emphasizing rural and Indigenous health contexts. She actively contributes to medical training frameworks and policy development in general practice education.
