Siyuan Liu is a Wallenberg-NTU Presidential Postdoctoral Fellow at the Division of Decision and Control Systems, KTH Royal Institute of Technology, Stockholm, Sweden. Previously, she held a Digital Futures Postdoc Fellowship at KTH (2023-2024), and was a research assistant at the Hybrid Control Systems (HyConSys) Lab at Ludwig-Maximilian University of Munich, Germany. She earned her Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Technical University of Munich (2022), M.E. from Beihang University (2017), and B.E. from Beihang University (2014). Her research focuses on control theory intersections with formal methods, hybrid systems, multi-agent systems, and cyber-physical systems security.
Research interests include compositional synthesis, formal verification, multi-agent coordination, safety-critical systems, nonlinear control, and stochastic systems. She explores secure-by-construction control methods, opacity analysis for privacy preservation, and distributed observer design for networked systems. Her work emphasizes trustworthiness in AI-driven control systems through sandboxing and formal guarantees.
Teaching includes Hybrid and Embedded Control Systems (EL2450) at KTH. Key contributions span 25+ publications since 2016, with recent emphases on STL-based task decomposition, communication-aware control, and security-aware synthesis. Research tools include barrier certificates, assume-guarantee contracts, and abstraction-based methods.
