Siuman Raymond Ting

Dr. Siuman Raymond Ting is a Professor and Director of Graduate Programs in the Department of Educational Leadership, Policy, and Human Development at North Carolina State University (NCSU). He holds a Ph.D. from the University of Iowa, M.A. from Biola University, and Dip.Ed. and B.SSc. from the Chinese University of Hong Kong. His academic roles include visiting professorships at institutions such as the Chinese University of Hong Kong and Beijing Normal University.

Dr. Ting’s research focuses on college admission and student success, career development in STEM, online learning strategies, mental health, and international student development. He has secured over $1 million in research funding and authored/co-authored numerous publications, including works on pandemic impacts on international students and multicultural counseling practices.

He has received prestigious awards such as the NASPA Fellowship, ACA’s Ralph Berdie Memorial Research Award, and the North Carolina Counseling Association’s Innovation/Creativity Award. His editorial contributions span journals like The Career Development Quarterly and Journal of College Counseling.

Dr. Ting’s teaching includes courses on college counseling, crisis intervention, and multicultural education. He maintains a private counseling practice, offering services in cognitive behavioral therapy and specializing in anxiety, depression, and trauma. His professional licenses include LMHC and Global Certified Career Development Facilitator Instructor.
