Siqian Shen is Professor of Industrial & Operations Engineering at University of Michigan, jointly appointed in Civil and Environmental Engineering. She directs research on optimization methodologies (stochastic programming, robust optimization) applied to transportation, energy, and healthcare systems.
Education includes Ph.D. from University of Florida (2011) and B.S. from Tsinghua University (2007). She leads multiple NSF and DOE grants on infrastructure optimization and shared mobility systems. Honors include IISE Fellow (2025), NSF Director's Award (2024), and DOE Early Career Award (2017).
Current research explores quantum control optimization, epidemic management, and risk-averse decision frameworks. Editorial roles include IISE Transactions, Operations Research, and Manufacturing & Service Operations Management.
