Dr. Siqi Zhang is a Lecturer (Teaching Fellow) in the Moray House School of Education and Sport at the University of Edinburgh, affiliated with the Institute of Education, Community and Society. She holds a PhD in Sociology from the University of Edinburgh (2019). Her research focuses on gender, cultural capital, and transnational educational mobility, particularly among Chinese international students. She has been recognized for her teaching excellence, including nominations for the EUSA Teaching Award (2021–2022).

Research Interests: Dr. Zhang examines how gender and cultural capital intersect with transnational educational choices and student experiences. Her work addresses social inequality in education, international student experiences, and qualitative methodologies such as ethnography and participant observation. She has explored topics like global citizenship identity, embodied cultural capital, and the impact of transnational mobility on student identities.
