Sinem Hidir is an Associate Professor of Economics at the University of Warwick. She specializes in Information Economics, Political Economy, Organizational Economics, and Industrial Organization. Her research explores topics such as privacy in digital markets, price discrimination strategies, legislative bargaining mechanisms, and organizational decision-making under uncertainty.
Dr. Hidir is actively involved in academic service as the Micro Theory Group Deputy Coordinator and co-organizer of the weekly Micro Theory seminar series. She teaches advanced courses including EC943 Industrial Economics (Masters), EC9B8 Topics in Economic Theory (PhD), and EC346 Research Methods in Economics (Undergraduate).
Her work has been recognized with the Best Paper Award at the 2018 Great Lakes Political Economy Theory Conference for her paper The Race to the Base. Current research projects include studies on expert credibility in institutions, experimental learning dynamics in monopolies, and strategic communication in political campaigns.
