Dr. Sinead Mehigan is the Interim Dean of the Faculty of Health, Social Care and Education at Middlesex University and Head of the Nursing and Midwifery Department. She holds a part-time faculty role, having been seconded to various NHS and educational partnerships. Her academic interests span perioperative nursing, workforce development, surgical safety, and nursing leadership. She leads the Clinical Academic Nexus (NCL CAN), a collaboration with North Central London ICS to enhance nursing workforce sustainability.
Her clinical background includes perioperative practice in ophthalmic and neurosurgery. She teaches post-registration perioperative nursing (NSA3511) and advises pre-registration students on professional social media use.
