Sinan Gokkaya

Sinan Gokkaya is the Ohio University Presidential Teacher and JPMorgan Chase & Co. Professor of Finance at the College of Business. He holds a PhD in Finance from Mississippi State University (2012), an MBA from the University of Louisiana at Monroe (2008), and a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Istanbul Technical University (2005). His research focuses on sell-side equity analysts, asset management, and investment banking, with publications in elite journals like The Journal of Finance and Management Science. He has received numerous teaching awards including multiple Teacher of the Year recognitions and the 5-year Research Impact Award.

His work explores topics such as analyst trade strategies, professional connections in financial sectors, and the impact of industry expertise on monitoring effectiveness. His research has been presented at leading conferences like the American Finance Association and featured in media outlets including The Wall Street Journal and Financial Times. The JPMorgan Professorship supports his mission to enhance financial education and industry engagement through scholarly leadership and corporate recruitment efforts.
