Simone Moriconi is a Full Professor of Economics at IÉSEG School of Management, specializing in Labor Economics, Public Economics, and International Economics. He holds a PhD in Economics from the Catholic University Milan (2007) and an HDR (Habilitation) in Economics and Mathematics Sciences from the University of Lille (2020).
His research focuses on migration policy impacts, taxation models, political economy dynamics, and institutional effects on labor markets. Notable contributions include analyses of immigrant political preferences, firm offshoring decisions, and the relationship between tax progressivity and unemployment.
He has held visiting positions at leading institutions such as the University of California Davis, Copenhagen Business School, and the London School of Economics. Awards include the 2009 Ian Beardwell Prize and LERA Best Paper Award.
Recent work explores topics like university-driven economic growth in Italy, rural-urban political divides among second-generation immigrants, and managerial taxation frameworks. His publications span top journals like European Economic Review, Journal of Economic Growth, and International Tax and Public Finance.
