Simona Schwarz

Dr. Simona Schwarz is a research scientist at the Leibniz Institute of Polymer Research Dresden (IPF Dresden), working within the Department of Functional Colloidal Materials under the Division Physical Chemistry and Physics of Polymers. She maintains an active research laboratory (simsch-lab.de) focused on developing innovative polymeric solutions for environmental challenges.

Her primary research interests include electrokinetic measurements, solid/liquid interface characterization, and the development of environmentally friendly polyelectrolyte-based materials. Dr. Schwarz specializes in creating stable, highly concentrated nanoparticle dispersions and investigating demixing processes for organic waste separation including dyes, acrylates, and oils. Her work bridges fundamental colloid science with practical environmental applications.
