Simona Onori is an Associate Professor in Energy Science and Engineering at Stanford University, with a courtesy appointment in Electrical Engineering. She leads the Stanford Energy Control Lab and is a Senior Fellow at the Precourt Institute for Energy. Her research focuses on control systems, energy management in hybrid/electric vehicles, and battery aging modeling. She has held roles at Clemson University and The Ohio State University, and has authored over 200 publications.

Notable awards include the SAE Fellow distinction, the 2020 C3E Award, and the NSF CAREER Award. She advises multiple doctoral students and contributes to IEEE and SAE editorial roles.
Her work on EV charging infrastructure, waste heat recovery systems, and military vehicle energy storage has been widely recognized. She directs the Stanford Energy Control Lab, fostering interdisciplinary research in sustainable energy systems.
