Dr. Simona Montagnana is a Senior Lecturer in Economics at the University of Bath's Department of Economics. With a PhD in Economics of Production and Development from the University of Insubria, her research bridges industrial organisation, microeconomics, and public policy. Her work examines sustainability transitions during crises and foreign investment impacts in emerging economies.
Her research interests include analyzing environmental policy frameworks and development economics, particularly focusing on economic modeling under disruptive events like pandemics. She also explores regional economic development dynamics, especially in Eastern European contexts.
Dr. Montagnana directs the MSc Applied Economics programs and holds a Fellowship from the Higher Education Academy. Prior to Bath, she advised policy institutions in Italy and taught at the University of Bristol.
