Simon Sedej

Simon Sedej is an Associate Professor at the Medical University of Graz, leading the Basic Cardiovascular Research Unit within the Division of Cardiology. His research focuses on molecular mechanisms of cardiovascular aging and metabolic stress, aiming to develop therapies for heart failure with preserved ejection fraction (HFpEF).

• Key methodologies: caloric restriction mimetics (e.g., spermidine), NAD+ metabolism modulation, and transgenic animal models.
• Expertise: invasive hemodynamics, echocardiography, metabolic phenotyping, and subcellular Ca²⁺ imaging.
