Simon Griffin is a Professor of General Practice at the University of Cambridge, affiliated with the School of Clinical Medicine and the Public Health & Primary Care Department. He is a Governing Body Fellow and an MRC Investigator, with additional roles as Honorary Professor at Aarhus University and Honorary Consultant at Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
His research focuses on translating epidemiological evidence into clinical and policy interventions for non-communicable diseases, particularly obesity, diabetes, cardiovascular disease, and cancer. He has led over 35 RCTs, including the first type 2 diabetes screening trial, and secured >£70M in grants, including NIHR programme grants and MRC funding (2010, 2015, 2020).
