Simon Godsill is a Professor of Statistical Signal Processing at the University of Cambridge, affiliated with the Engineering Department and Corpus Christi College. He coordinates the Signal Inference and its Applications research group, focusing on advanced Bayesian computational methods, multiple object tracking, audio/music processing, and financial time series modeling.
His research leverages Lévy processes and Sequential Monte Carlo (Particle Filtering) techniques for non-Gaussian modeling in applications spanning tracking agile objects (e.g., birds, drones), financial prediction, and vibrational data analysis. He has co-authored foundational texts like Digital Audio Restoration and led major international workshops, including the Imperial Workshop on Intelligent Communications.
